Ansel Adams: The Tetons and Snake River
Photography is a popular medium in today’s culture. With the development of the digital camera, it has allowed people to explore their environment and become familiar with a media that was once only used by professionals. But the roots of photography are very interesting.
Before there were news teams following soldiers into war, there was a photojournalist at the forefront of the action. There were also photographers that caught incredible scenes in nature or pushed the boundaries of expression through a lens. Photographers that come to mind are Robert Capa, Annie Liebovitz, Dorothea Lange, and the controversial Robert Mapplethorpe (although he did a lot of portraiture and nature photography, too).
If you are an avid fan of photography and want to discover the versatile range of the lens, residents at Lincoln Park might want to check out the Ansel Adams exhibit. While the exhibit has been at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art since May, it is a must for anybody interested in photography or art.
The exhibit runs through November 7th, and best of all it’s free! What else is needed there? Photographs are allowed, but restricted to the permanent collection. So no photography of the photography, please (lol!) For additional info, visit Amon Carter Museum of American Art.

“I love the fact that it’s always almost empty and people rarely go there just to hang out. More of a store than a wine bar. You can order by the glass (opening a tab) or buy a pre-paid card and sip 10 to 15 wines.”
“I like this place more and more every time I visit. I love the space– it’s clean, filled with light and wood and wine! Also, the use of space is diverse– great mix of sit down space and stand up space.”
Why drinking wine is so good for you?
Reason 1 - Wine could preserve your memory.
Reason 2 – Studies find that people who drink wine daily have lower body mass than those who indulge occasionally.
Reason 3 - On average, women who drink moderately seem to have higher bone mass than abstainers.
